best acoustic guitar quality image
awesomejoe
I want to teach myself to play, but I still want a good quality acoustic guitar that will last me a long time. Kind of like an "easy enough for a beginner, good enough for a pro" type of deal that doesn't break the bank. I don't want to spend more than $200, with an absolute max of $250. Also, I want it to sound and look really really good. Any suggestions?

Sounds like Yamaha FG-700S woud be perfect for you. Not a professional guitar (which is not to be expected in this price range) but it has a solid spruce top and you probably won't outgrow it for a few years.

Does an electro acoustic guitar ever degrade over years?
Q. Hi guys, could an electro acoustic guitar produce bad quality sounds over 3 or 4 years of use and if it has minor minor scratches and the smallest ever dents (like a shallow dent the size of an ant) on it?
Thanks
Thanks

Of course, any guitar can benefit by a trip to the doctor once in a while. The guitar may need a professional set up..about $35 in my area...they check the neck, adjust the bridge, intonation, truss rod..etc..etc...if needed.
Your guitar may need a new battery? If your electric/acoustic plays allright and sounds in tune, distortion and loss of volume is the first sign of a weak battery.
