Whenever i play my acoustic guitar my pick always moves around in my fingers and eventually drops. if i holf it too tight im too tense to play but, because i hold it loosely i drop it. I have been playing electric guitar forever and never had this problem but whenever i strum chords it arises. What are some suggestions/techniques i could use to avoid this problem?

Answer
Try "COOL" guitar picks. They have a roughened surface that is similar to sand paper and make them easier to hold... they also work very well if you work up a sweat. They aren't cheap, however.

BTW a lot of guitar pickers have this problem which is why many of the bands have multiple picks tied onto the mic booms with a very light thread. If they drop a pick or break one, the next new one is right there in front of them, hanging next to the mic.

Where can i buy cool acoustic guitar pick guards?

I am making an acoustic guitar in wood shop and i would like to buy a pick guard to put on it. The face is a tan color and the sides are dark brown. What would look good on it. Also, if you have experience making guitars do you know if the pick guard goes on before or after the final coat of finish. Thanks in advance!

Answer
definetly ebay . ebay has pick guards that has inlays in it. beautifull. or you can go the way i did, and get really nice laquer and paint. and let people see the beautifull wood. laquere is real tough agiasnts picks. so show off that wood. but its personnaly your choice. ebay would be a good place to go to. they have a wider selection than amazon.
