I really want an acoustic guitar and I found one on craiglist. I just don't know if it's good quality or not. I can't attatch the link right now, but the brand was Huntington and the person was only asking for $70...
I have to buy it myself (I'm 15) and this is perfect for my budget...
Answer
DO NOT BUY A GUITAR U HAVENT PLAYED B4! Test the guitar 1st. I've never heard of Huntington, it might be a beginner guitar in which isnt all that great of a guitar. Also guitars that are marketed as beginner guitars are those w/ poor quality and cheaply made. Personally i hate that cheap-@ss Epiphone guitar pack. It has horrible action and the sound projection is bad.
note: cheap guitars=cheaper quality=bad sound and playability, ultimately u get what u pay for, that simple
I suggest you raise your price range, and look to buy a Yamaha Acoustic Gigmaker Pack which is around $160 this is a perfect starter set w/ everything u need and some, plus the guitar isnt bad at all, which is the better buy

OR
The Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack which is $199

Fender also offers a Squier pack for acoustic, i think but double check though. I dont like it becuase it feel cheap and the sound is...eh
OR
Ibanez IJV50 JamPack Quick Start $99 (the quality on this on is iffy)

If u dont buy a starter kit stick w/ these brands plus the ones above:
Alvarez, Washburn, Regal, Seagull, and Rogue.
After the guitar all u'll need afterward is a TUNER, a crap-load of PICKS (you'll lose alotta of them), and some BOOK and DVD (extra, but helpful to have a visual aide). The book should have basic music theory, scales, and chords (these are the 3 main pt u need to start getting good at guitar)
note: its better to buy a acoustic (non-acoustic electric), because the pre-amp on the guitar is tied into its price, so if its really cheap, then the quality is super bad. Again I recommend the Yamaha pack, but their are other more expensive packs that have better guitars, but the Yamaha should suffice until u buy a better one later on.

What is a good acoustic guitar starter kit?
Six1032
I don't know anything about guitars, reading music, ect. Websits would be good,or whatever could help.
Also...Whats better Acoustic or Electric acoustic guitar?
Thx
Answer
Start with a nylon string acoustic guitar. Buy a high quality, but inexpensive guitar. I recommend Seagull brands starting at $225, but you can get cheaper imports.
Metal strings are hard on the fingers for beginners. Electric guitar is played differently than acoustic. I don't recommend starting with electric.
Get a basic chord book. Find a teacher. You can start learning from anyone who is more experienced than yourself. Play together.
Learn to read tabature. This is where guitar music is written by showing the actual finger positions on the fretboard.
Get a songbook of your favorite tunes.
Never put down the guitar.
