Good, affordable semi-acoustic guitars?

Delilah S

what are some good, but affordable semi-acoustic guitars?
are there any good ones under $700??

Answer
ibanez makes good ones, but i would get an ovation or its baby company applause. ovation has a new acoustic-electric called the idea, it records songs that you make and has a mp3 player you can jam with, it also has a headphone jack. its about 600 dollars and is a bright silver color

Acoustic Electric Guitar advice please?
Hi! I am currently looking into getting an Acoustic Electric Guitar, and I'm kind of stuck between two.
The Ibanez ael20e that I'm interested in is cheaper, and I LOVE how it sounds, but I was wondering if it would be a better idea to spend a couple hundred dollars more and get a Martin DCX1E. And also if you have any other suggestions for any like these under $700 that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Answer
Spend more and get a Taylor 214ce. It's a much better guitar and a better shape.

I am currently looking for a PA system within the range of 300-700 dollars. I want something that is LOUD. My main concern is vocals being heard with good quality. I also want something that is pretty portable. Let me know of any suggestions.

Answer
LOUD in what context? You mean to amplify vocals in a rock band, with the bass and guitar and drums all screaming at 11? Not going to happen under $700, sorry. It just won't. Plan on spending at least $1000-1200 for a used one from someone on craigslist. If you want to buy a new system, you should budget in the $1500-2000 range, systems like this...

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/alesis-s-16--ev-elx115p-mains-and-monitors-package/h78565000000000
http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/RX1200L-2153

(the Carvin system is cheapest but doesn't include monitors - Carvin's monitor packages are another $300 but there are cheaper options).

Under $700, you can get an all-in-one kit like these...

http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/S400D

They will be OK for things like acoustic gigs, or for practice at low volume, but they will NOT keep up with heavy amps at a rock gig.
