ok so ive recently brought an acoustic guitar but ive never really playd 1 before is there any recomended dvd's to help me out?...thankyou! :D

I'd recommend any of Homespun's DVDs. They've been doing acoustic guitar instruction for over 40 years, and their videos are outstanding. Great teachers, camera work, and and overall instruction. They've also got a new video for beginners with Steve Kaufman (http://www.homespuntapes.com/CatalogueRetrieve.aspx?ProductID=1679286&A=SearchResult&SearchID=282716&ObjectID=1679286&ObjectType=27), who is an incredible guitar player and a very popular and respected guitar teacher. So, this could be a good video, too, though his specialty is country and bluegrass guitar, and it looks like he does teach for the pure beginner in this video, but as it progresses it will focus on country and bluegrass playing.
They have several DVDs for beginners, so you should check those out and see what looks best to you.
There are also some great online guitar programs that are worth checking out, if you're considering going that route. Jamorama (http://6ebc8zrd8h8x2l6cigvblalq4a.hop.clickbank.net/) is a very good one.

Good acoustic guitar for beginners?

I'm planning on getting an acoustic guitar for beginners and for budget I'd say anywhere from nothing to about £300. It's a present for my 16 th birthday coming up soon. I don't know a lot about guitars though and want to start to learn how to play.

At your budget, a solid top (as opposed to a laminate top) is a must. There are some very good guitars being made at that price, so you'll have a lot to choose from. I also like the Seagull S6 (I still own one, in fact). It's a well-made guitar with a great sound, but I would absolutely encourage you to test out several before you buy. And, if possible, bring a friend with you to test them out, possibly one who also plays guitar. That way you can both switch off playing the guitar and listening to see which sound best from a player's and listener's perspective.
An article that I've frequently referred to has some good questions to consider when shopping for a guitar at this price range (and at any price range, really). "What is the guitar made of? Does it have a solid top? Is the neck straight? Are the frets solidly seated and evenly filed? Do the tuning machines turn smoothly? Is the guitar easy to play? Does it buzz? Once youâre satisfied that the basic requirements have been met, you can move on to more personal issues. Are you comfortable with the size of the guitarâs body and neck? Do you like the instrumentâs shape and tone? Is the finish strong enough to protect the guitar in the places you intend to play it?" There's a lot more in the article, even though it's a few years old, but it should help you with your decision.
