B.

I want to buy an acoustic guitar, but their expensive. The only cheap ones i found were colored and i do not want a colored guitar i want a nice vintage standard rosewood, mahogany color those type of guitars. Can someone recommend a website where there is cheap guitars under lets see $100 :) thanks.

Answer
I've played the guitar for years, and I think your best bet is either your local craigslist.org, or any local classified listings online. Alternatively, I have noticed some very good prices on EBay and Amazon, but often the shipping costs are very high. There has been the occasional good deal on EBay with free or low shipping, though, so depending on your patience level, it could be worth a look. Guitar Center is national, so maybe they have reasonable shipping - they have periodical blow-out sales. Good luck!

Where could i find a VERY CHEAP ukulele/mini accoustic guitar?

Katie

I was planning on making a guitar shaped bird house, and i need a small cheep guitar. I was thinking of getting a kids acoustic guitar off amazon, but i like the ukulele size better. But i can't find one under $100. Any advice?

Answer
Katie,
Being a ukulele enthusiast and music lover I have to wonder why anyone would want to turn an instrument into a birdhouse. Why not an old boot? Finding a ukulele at a garage sale would be rare. You'd find a guitar first. However, the soprano ukulele b/c of size would be your best bet and you can usually find them new at W-mart for about $20. Or if you want a colorful one go to http://www.empire-music.com/. They have real colorful ones for $20.

I'm about to buy an acoustic guitar online and I noticed that there are beginner guitars and adult sized guitars. the guitar that I really want is an adult sized but, since I'm a beginner, I was wondering if i really need to start out on a beginner instead.

Answer
Stacey, beginner is not a size.

The only advantage of a beginner guitar is that if you give up in six months, you didn't dump 500+ bucks down the drain.

Other than that, they are 'inferior' instruments.

But don't get too caught up on that. In six months to a year, if you are looking to keep playing (I hope you will be) you will have enough experience to begin to appreciate the differences in more expensive guitars. At that point, get yourself a good mass-produced job (300-500 bucks) and pass that beginner guitar on to a niece or nephew or friend's kid.

I'm 5'1 and my hands are very small. I need a good beginners acoustic guitar for a reasonable price. Also, what size would you suggest for me since my hands cannot fit around a full size guitar? Thanks!

Answer
Rachie,

The best way to find the right guitar is to go and play on several different ones.

You will be safe if you start looking along the lines of a Yamaha, Ibanez, Alvarez, Fender and possibly a Takemine.

I would ask the sale people to assist you in finding acoustics with slim necks, but you will definitely want a full body. Stay away from the small toy guitars.
