What is acoustic and Spanish guitar?

Q. I really don't know ,probably nothing bout it !!
But now I want to know wat is Spanish guitar and acoustic guitar with some examples(songs)??
I want a simple way to understand these !!

An acoustic guitar is one that doesn't require electronic amplification. In other words, it's not an electric guitar. Many people incorrectly think it means a steel-string guitar. Actually, acoustic guitars come in several types, including some with nylon strings ("classical guitars").

A Spanish guitar is one that is made in Spain. It's sometimes sloppily used, especially by older people, to mean various other kinds of guitars (sometimes classical guitars, sometimes flat-tops as opposed to archtops, sometimes any acoustic! Talking to people of 80 or 90 or reading old books, you'll encounter all of 'em). It's really impossible to tell what anybody means by it unless you have some other clue. It's not a term used by people who know guitars, unless they're talking about one made in Spain.

The Acoustic Guitar Method is a very good DVD for beginners (http://www.homespuntapes.com/CatalogueRetrieve.aspx?ProductID=1015800&A=SearchResult&SearchID=304966&ObjectID=1015800&ObjectType=27). I'd recommend any of Homespun's DVDs. They've been doing acoustic guitar instruction for over 40 years, and their videos are outstanding. Great teachers, camera work, and and overall instruction. They've also got a new video for beginners with Steve Kaufman (http://www.homespuntapes.com/CatalogueRetrieve.aspx?ProductID=1679286&A=SearchResult&SearchID=282716&ObjectID=1679286&ObjectType=27), who is an incredible guitar player and a very popular and respected guitar teacher. So, this could be a good video, too, though his specialty is country and bluegrass guitar, and it looks like he does teach for the pure beginner in this video, but as it progresses it will focus on country and bluegrass playing.
They have several DVDs for beginners, so you should check those out and see what looks best to you.

There are also some great online guitar programs that are worth checking out, if you're considering going that route. Jamorama (http://6ebc8zrd8h8x2l6cigvblalq4a.hop.clickbank.net/) is a very good one.

Acoustic Guitar also has a downloadable video/pdf guide for beginners (http://www.stringletter.com/Shop/The-Beginner-s-Guide-to-Guitar-Complete-Edition) that is very good, too.

Hey, i've noticed a few of my favorite musicians that play acoustic guitar live are able to amplify their REGULAR acoustic guitars by plugging a little device into the amp. The little device slides under the strings over the tone hole on the body of the guitar

It's called a "pickup"

It's the same idea as an electric guitar, except for acoustic guitars. They are not very expensive, but depending on what kind you get you may want to pay someone to install it.

I was wondering which brand is better - Fender or Epiphone in terms for acoustic guitars because that are kinda in the same price range. Anyone an experienced guitarist?

Same price range? Do you mean the $199 range or the $899 range? Those two companies make a wide range of guitars.

Your question is like asking "who makes the best running shoe?" Comparing Fender and Epiphone is like comparing Nike to New Balance. Professionals use both and it depends on preferences.

Having said that, it doesn't mean that all guitars in the same price range are the same. You have to consider the details. An acoustic guitar with a solid spruce top will sound better than one with a laminated top.

So, it's hard to generalize. You need to look at the specific guitars. But both Fender and Epi are respected brands.

What are the best acoustic guitars for under $100?

I just want a start-up acoustic guitar for now. Once I get better i'll probably try to buy a better quality guitar but for now what are the best acoustic guitars for under $100( preferably $60-$80). The walmart guitar is $60 but I feel there is a better guitar out there for a similar amount.

I've played and taught classical and acoustic guitar for almost forty years and have yet to hear one for that price that sounded good....the best one that I ever hear that's inexpensive is the Yamaha acoustic, it's $200.00 even less when one sale...and Guitar Center is very good at giving you a deal if you ask. This guitar is one of the better ones for that price, go and play them and you'll see what I mean, now remember if they have five Yamaha's try then all as they all have a little different sound, and make sure that you play the notes up and down the fingerboard to check for buzz's, check the action also, make sure that the strings aren't to hard to press down. Also ask if they sell second hand Yamaha's, some of the Guitar Centers do. If you find one that you like ask the clerk to play it for you to make sure that it's the sound that you like. All the very cheep guitars are so bad that I'd advise you to wait until you save more money, at least the $200.00 for the Yamaha. Some of these guitars that they sell at Sears and Penny's are so bad to play, not only do they sound bad but the strings sit so high off the fingerboard I don't know how anyone can even play them. If the Guitar Center doesn't have any second hand Yamaha's try Sam Ash, or a Pawn shop...good luck...bye !!!!!! I hope I helped you with this, I'd hate to see you get something that sounds horrible and is almost imposable to play !!!!!!!!!

What are some really good acoustic guitars?

I'm thinking about getting a new acoustic guitar because mine sounds like shit, sort of ;D
so my first question is what are some really good acoustic guitars, and second is,do you have to buy a really expensive one if you want it do sound really good, or are there cheaper ones that sound the same but, you know, cheaper?

good acoustic guitars from my experience are Martins, Alvarez, Yamaha, Fender, and Dean.
Martins are usually expensive but very much worth the price. you can find a cheaper Martin but i dont know how great they are.
Alvarez, Yamaha, Fender, and Dean - you usually get what you pay for. Their high end models are great, and their low end models are decent. you can usually find a good guitar around the 400 to 650 dollar range. much lower than that and they start getting sketchy.
If you are willing to spend the money you can get an amazing guitar with no worries. if you dont have the budget you might have to settle for a solid good guitar.

What are some decent acoustic guitars that cost less than 500 dollars? I'm looking to buy one for my best friend that recently has been robbed. Our group of friends are all chipping in as a surprise. I've already bought him a brand new iPod shuffle because he lost his old one in the robbery, along with many other items like games, computers, TVs, etc.

What are some good quality black acoustic guitars?

I have a Seagull S6 Cedar Original, but I'm looking to buy another guitar. I really like the look of black acoustic guitars, but I can't seem to find any that are good quality, but still in my price range.

Ideally, I don't want to spend more than $400.

Any suggestions?

I bought a black acoustic guitar about 4 years ago for about $100. It is made by S101. When I bought it and I took a few lesson then stop but recently started to take lessons again (about 3 months ago) and it I think it sounds good for a beginner guitar. While I am waiting on my teacher I sit around the music shop and play other more expensive acoustics and I think my sounds as good. Here is a link to one on ebay.
