Generally how much does a standard acoustic guitar with pick plus beginners books cost?

Q. Can you please give me cost ranges for both new and second hand.

Also how easy/possible is it to self teach yourself guitar. I'd really like to learn and if I save up I'll eventually be able to afford a book or two and the guitar itself but maybe not lessons.

Cost my brother $300, but he is left handed, so he had to have a left handed one ordered from Melbourne. Guitar is a very difficult instrument to learn. The WEA on Angus Street, Adelaide, runs short beginners courses that are relatively inexpensive and are open to everyone.
