Can you string an acoustic guitar With nylon strings?

JULIE

Answer
Nylons string guitars are Acoustic. you should string it with what it is designed for, some guitars are made for nylon strings, others for steel strings. Nylons strings guitars are usually better for classical and finger picking styles, but anything you can play on a regular steel string you can play on a nylon. they do have a different tone, and are not as loud as steel strings. They are easier on your fingers, but will have wider necks and higher action.

Should I learn with an acoustic guitar which has nylon strings?

or is it better to go straight into the wired ones?

Answer
You are talking about a classical guitar, which has nylon strings instead of steel. The nylon strings will be easier on your fingers. This type of guitar is mostly used for playing fingerstlye. You can play fingerstyle on a steel acoustic but the classical has a softer sound. Electric guitars are fun too because they can produce different sounds. I personally started out with a steel acoustic. I think you should learn on the classical guitar first, that way you don't get frustrated with the pain on your fingertips.
