Good, affordable semi-acoustic guitars?

Delilah S

what are some good, but affordable semi-acoustic guitars?
are there any good ones under $700??

Answer
ibanez makes good ones, but i would get an ovation or its baby company applause. ovation has a new acoustic-electric called the idea, it records songs that you make and has a mp3 player you can jam with, it also has a headphone jack. its about 600 dollars and is a bright silver color

Good acoustic electric?

Whats the best acoustic-electric guitar you can get under $600?

Answer
The reason there are so many models is that no two guitarists think alike. I love Ovation, but most guitarists think they're awful.

You should find your own choice by going to a good music store--a big one like Sam Ash or Guitar Center or your bigger local shops--and try out all the guitars in your price range. Don't be afraid of used or scratch-n-dent, you can get more instrument for your dollar that route.

Trying out the guitars, first check for feel. Do your left fingers reach all the strings well, and does the neck nestle nicely in the hand? Does your right arm like hanging over this body?

Once you have several that feel good, have a friend or the sales clerk play each of them (same tunes on eac) while you turn your back. The one that feels good and sounds best while your back is turned is the one you want.

Be aware that there will be differences among acoustics of the same make and model--wood grain and manufacturing tolerances make a difference--and so when you find an instrument that sounds great, get THAT VERY one, don't settle for the "new in box from our store room" instead.
