hey guys, i am getting a bass soon and i was wondering if it would be okay to use an acoustic guitar amp for a bass. and how it would sound compared to a regular bass amp

How do you plug an acoustic guitar into an amp?

Do you need a certain kind of amp?
Do you need a certain kind of guitar?
Two things:
1) I know you need an acoustic guitar pickup(s).
2) If you don't need a certain kind of guitar, where do you plug-in the cable?

For my acoustic guitar I use a pickup that slides in and fits snuggly in the cutout of the guitar. A cord comes out from the pickup and has a standard 1/4" jack plug on the end that plugs into my amp. When I don't want to use the amp I can just take the pickup out of the guitar. I play through a few different amps. There are some amps designed specifically for acoustic guitars but you can play one through most any amp.
Check out the DiMarzio DP138 and you'll see what I mean. They are about $70 but there are others that are cheaper.
