I am talking about an acoustic guitar without an preamp. So no holes. Do you have to cut it? LOL
Sounds risky, or are there services who do that?

Answer
Are you actually looking for an acoustic pickup and preamp, or just the preamp.

Guitar center (and others) have both. There are a number of pickups that can be installed without cutting anything, and external preamps with belt clips.

How much does it cost to get a preamp installed in an acoustic guitar?

I AM SINGI

Im trying to decide it its cheaper to get a preamp installed in my acoustic guitar or to buy a new guitar with one already built in.

would the price be the same for installing a preamp on an acoustic bass too?

THANKS!

Answer
If you like your guitar, I suggest an external (belt clip) preamp for about $100.

Most guitar amplifiers have a channel that accommodates a passive pickup.

The external preamp could be used when plugging into an amplifier or PA system requiring the preamp.

Iâve included a link to an inexpensive guitar preamp, but there are several available at this price.
