I bought an acoustic guitar at Guitar Center and now I'm going to get an electric guitar. Is Guitar Center a good place to get one at? Or should I go to a local guitar store? Which one would probably have the best guitars?

Answer
GC is a great place to try out guitars, but I never buy from them. It is better to support your local music store. Not only is it just good to support any local shop, but also they will be far more willing to help you out once you become a customer. Here is just a couple examples. There are two local stores I buy all of my guitars from. They are both very good about fixing small problems for free, they will always give me advice and help anytime I need it and they will always be honest with me about any guitars in the shop. They also give me close to what I paid for a guitar when trading in. I traded in a $900 guitar at GC one time and got $250 for it, that was the last time I bought anything from them. Either of the local shops would allow me $750 - $800 on a $900 guitar. Always good to buy from a local shop.

What can I get for my Washburn NV100c electric/acoustic Guitar?

Austin C

I was just wondering if anyone knew what a used Washburn NV100c is worth. I bought it brand new around 2006 for $750 or so. Since then it has been used lightly and always stored in a hard case. There's no scratches and the strings have been recently replaced with 3 metal and 3 nylon strings. It has a built in amp and a wide fret board. I will most likely include the hard case, guitar strap, amp, and stand. I cant find any online for sale so any ideas on what I could get for it would be great.

Answer
The rule of thumb is that used gear sells for about half of new gear. That guitar sells for $569 new so you'd get around $285 for yours. Here's the new one:
